Joe PortraitFrom a young age I had a strong draw to technology and was even given a few nicknames because of it, some that stick with me to this day. I first joined the workforce as a Cashier at Best Buy.  Within months I was promoted to a Customer Service Rep.  Throughout my 6 years at the company I continued to receive recognition for my work and was given promotions, eventually leaving the company as the Backup Operations Senior.  Working face to face with customers and getting to turn their poor experience into a good one is always something I’ve enjoyed.

During my college years I worked various part time jobs to accommodate my busy full time school schedule.  I spent nearly 2 years working as a Student Assistant in the Admissions call center, guiding perspective students and their parents through the scary college application process.  I also worked as a Lab Assistant Embry-Riddle Eaglesfor the Air Traffic Management labs, guiding lower level students through their training.  My interest in travel and meeting new people drove me to work as a Front Desk Agent for two Daytona Beach hotels.  During my summers I worked full time for either Best Buy, the FAA as an intern, or Comcast as a dispatcher.

Upon graduating from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL I began working for Brute, a leading manufacturer in athletic apparel.  I began performing two roles, Customer Service Representative & Human Factors Analyst.  When I wasn’t helping process custom uniform orders, I was working with a programming contractor to develop new systems and improve upon existing ones.  After several successful projects I assumed the role of IT & Process Manager, devoting all of my time and resources to systemic improvements.  Upon a corporate restructuring, I was tasked with combining my IT and business skill sets to fill the role of Controller.  As the company continued to grow into its new form, my focus was shifted away from HR & Accounting functions, and back to the world of IT and business solutions.  During my time at the company I got to bring the company to several new and improved systems.  Click here to check out some of the projects I’ve been involved with.

After relocating to Colorado I took a position with Experlogix as an implementation engineer. In my new position I got to work with different clients to create solutions to their unique problems and requirements. I enjoyed this position as it allowed me to see an implementation of a solution from discovery through design, and finally go-live.

After nearly two years with Experlogix I joined the team at Sonoma Partners as Consultant, mostly playing the role of Project Manager or Business Analyst. This position allows me to use my process improvement skills to improve efficiency for my clients. Every day provides me with an opportunity to do something different.

After approximately 6 months in the position I was named a Sommelier, Sonoma’s version of a Subject Matter Expert, with a focus on CPQ (Configure Price Quote) solutions. With this additional all responsibility I will be tasked with staying up to date on available solutions and assisting fellow Sonomans with their CPQ related questions.
